There's nothing to it. At least not at present.
Again, all indications are that Giroux wants to finish his career here and the Flyers want that, too. He wasn't asked to waive his NMC for the Expansion Draft. There is no plan to replace him as captain. They'll figure out a (lower) cap hit and term based on how this season goes.
Could things change? Sure. Likely? No. |

I should have clarified. Do you know if they ever had any trade discussion any possible players coming the flyers way. Were they told he isnt available? |

When teams find late round gems and even better- undrafted guys who join the team as ATO or PTO- it really puts the franchise a step or two ahead. I think back to the days that Detroit got datsyuk and zetterberg in late rounds. Had they not drafted those 2 players I don't think Detroit would have won as much as they did for so long.
So when we have guys like Myers and zamula walk on to the team it really hurts to miss out on a second over all pick like NoPa.
It makes me wonder how much further along this team would have been had nopa not nopa'd
I hope this franchise continues to find undrafted gems like they have. It makes up for a couple of shoddy first round draft picks by hexy
We were able to flip a 2nd overall bust and an undrafted defenseman for a legit #2 RHD though!

It is entirely possible that the Ottawa GM has called the Flyers to discuss the availability of Giroux. Where the blogger goes off the rails is when he writes " many close to Giroux have said he would waive his NMC for the Sens, plus he has a home in the area too!" So you mean to tell me that Kevin Francis knows this, gives a vague source and nobody else, no source who is directly following the Flyers has this info? The easy read on this is that the blogger is full of crap and he's writing nonsense.

On another note... Who is everyone most excited to keep an eye on on rookie camp?
There are some sleeper and dark horse kids I hope to see do well.
I like the destroyer. I want to see him do well.
Allison looks like the real deal. It's nice to see him healthy now

Maybe he needed some click bait. He knows flyers fans will chime in on that article |

Of course he is, in your opinion.
You should go tell him your thoughts on the matter. |

If Patrick had lived up to being the 2nd overall pick as a center, this team would've been immensely better off. I don't place any blame on Hextall for the pick. His drafting record is solid.

I would be surprised if Allison doesn't make the roster coming out of camp.

I don't recall at the time of the draft there being any mention of NoPa being a subpar skater, but there should have been concerns. |

Exactly! After all these years, I can’t picture him and the family homeless in Philly. So…Giroux has a very nice city-living dwelling in Philadelphia and would love to finish his career in orange and black now that the Flyers are turning the corner to contention.

Allison hurt again Bill? Pulled groin? - hello it's me 2050
He was held out of group sessions on days 2 and 3 and didn't do the 3-on-3. So he's dealing with something . |

I was curious about "Crime and Penalties" after reading Bill's blog yesterday. The trailer I saw infuriated me. Pro hockey below the AHL level is a joke. |
